Helping Children and Young People
Reduce Stress

Stress is one of the top 5 problems that affect children and young people's mental health.

Such stress can be created from many contributing factors, including school pressures, difficulties with peer groups, family challenges, puberty, and changes in environment such as changing schools.

Stress can affect young people in different ways. Some become quiet and withdrawn whilst others may become snappy and aggressive (outside of what is normal for them!) Others may find unhealthy stress relief methods that contribute to further problems.

Knowing a young persons personality and having positive open communication is one of the key ways in which stress can be identified and treated. However, working on the basis that everyone experiences stress at some degree as they grow up, this workshop will have universal appeal for any parent or practitioner who has contact with young people and who wants to identify problematic stress (and recognise the difference between that and general stress) as well as offer skills to reduce and relieve the stress they are experiencing.

In this one day workshop, our NLP4Kids practitioner will share with you strategies and techniques that have effectively helped many children and young people overcome stress and stress related problems.

As a result ofof attending this training you will learn:

  • Specific techniques to help relieve stress in a healthy way without the young person having to open up and confide in others if they do not want to.

  • Language skills to improve effective communication to prevent the build up of unwanted emotions for those young people who want to discuss their challenges and express themselves comfortably.
